Tara moved to Starkville in 2018 to join the sociology department at Mississippi State University, where she is currently a Safe Zone Advisory Board member and Gender Studies Affiliate. She has three rescue dogs: Eva, Blue, and Griff. As a lesbian woman, she feels it is important to stay involved in the local LGBTQ+ community, both on and off campus.
